Small homes, another way you could put it is a 'cosy home' - but what are the advantages of living somewhere that has a small internal living area?
A revolution of small homes is taking over Australia, with the attraction being their cost effectiveness and ease of establishment. We have explored some of Australia's smallest homes and found one in particular we love. Learn why you need a smaller home:
1. They are easier to maintain:
With a smaller internal area, having a small home makes it much easier to manage. A clean up job can take less than give minutes.
2. They are cheaper:
There is no question that small homes are more cost effective, and for a few reasons. The land is cheaper as it doesn't require as much, the outgoings are cheaper as it doesn't require as utilities are cheaper, and maintenance is cheaper as well.... there is less to maintain!
3. They are cosier:
Want to feel more at home, and be closer to your loved ones? Providing them less space is a sure fired way to ensure you cosy up a little more and spend more time together. No more watching TV in separate rooms!
4. They make living a game:
Want to keep your brain challenged and have to think outside the box? Living in a 'small home' will make you have to be a lot more creative. Spaces will need to be multi purpose and you will need to find ways for one thing to be used for something entirely different.
5. They provide an entry point in to the market:
A lot of people feel as if there is no way they can get in to the market, and it is too expensive. A 'small home' provides you the chance to get in to the market, for a bargain. This home is priced at $239,000 - possible one of Victoria's cheapest homes.
Australian's aren't the first to think of small homes as a living alternative. This trend has been big in the USA. Have a look at some of the most amazing small homes across the globe to get you inspired about changing your living situation.
